Mercury One was recently on the ground in Slovakia visiting the 35 families you helped rescue from Iraq in December. We saw firsthand the families arrive to their new homes from the processing center, where they learned the Slovak language and Slovak culture. The families were thrilled to arrive to their homes and start their new lives in a country that is proudly religious and stands for Christianity. Children will be starting school shortly and the adults are beginning to seek employment opportunities. Just last week, there were 20 job openings that became available and the opportunities continue to grow. Families told the Mercury One team how grateful they were to our donors for helping them relocate to a safer place and they will forever be thankful for your generosity. God has truly blessed them.
Peace & Good, a nonprofit organization that has partnered with Mercury One in Slovakia, is helping the families integrate and become accustomed to the Slovakian culture. They have done a wonderful job to make sure each person, each family member is taken care of and integrate successfully. We are truly grateful and humbled by Peace & Good’s love and compassion for the families. The Slovaks have done an amazing job in accepting the families and helping them become a part of their community. When Mercury One was visiting the families, they attended a large Catholic mass for the refugees. Over 3,000 Catholics from all over Slovakia, came together united for a beautiful service and mass to honor and pray for the refugees. Two women that we rescued presented gifts to the altar as the audience began to cheer and clap for them. The families you rescued are truly brave, strong, courageous individuals.
When Mercury One launched the Nazarene Fund, we said that you are saving generations to come-generations that will be able to freely practice their faith without fear of retribution and persecution from ISIS. On Palm Sunday, we received word that one of the families received a bundle of joy-a healthy baby boy. Andro was born at 4:00 AM Sunday (March 20th) without any complications and his mother is doing well. Because of you and your generosity, Andro has become a Slovakian citizen and his family can start their new journey in peace. The number of refugees you helped is no longer 149, but 150…soon to be 151 as a baby girl is due any day now.
This is one of the many testimonies of the success and happiness of the families that you helped rescue from Iraq. We are grateful for your faithfulness and dedication to Mercury One and the Nazarene Fund. As we approach Easter this weekend, we ask that you please keep the Christian families in your prayers. Easter is a time of reflection and remembrance of God’s mercy and grace, in which the families have truly experienced. Please pray for the remaining Christian refugees in Iraq. As ISIS continues to increase, attack, and threaten other countries, it makes the process of relocation harder for Mercury One. However, we refuse to be discouraged; rather, we are encouraged to work even harder in doing what we can to rescue Christians. We take the call and the responsibility God has given us very seriously, and we can’t do this without you. You are saving lives. You are saving generations.
Mercury One is praying for you and your family, that you have a blessed Easter. We are grateful and truly blessed to have you stand beside us on this journey. May God surround you with His peace, as we celebrate the greatest gift of all—Salvation.
Happy Easter from the Mercury One Team.
