Mercury One always has and always will support our veterans: America’s heroes.

In the spring of 2017, a two-day fundraising event for Mercury One partner, Folds of Honor Foundation, turned into an eleven-day endurance marathon that showed the determination and resolve of this incredible organization.

On the steps of the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Folds of Honor donors, sponsors and volunteers literally stood in the shoes of our nation’s honored heroes. The event, in an effort to support the organization’s Stand to Honor program, provided scholarships for the children of fallen U.S. soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen. Stand to Honor featured casts of actual boot and shoe prints of the soldiers whose children would be the recipients of these scholarships. Supporters took their places standing in those footsteps and Mercury One couldn’t be more proud to have been a partner.

On May 6th, 2017, we and many other companies, organizations and volunteers joined together to stand for our flag, our fallen, and our future. The goal was to raise $1 million to give educational scholarships to the children of those who are fallen or disabled as a result of serving this great country.

May 8th quickly rolled around and the $1 million mark had not been hit. But, just like those who serve this country, Folds of Honor, along with Milestone Electric and their many volunteers and partners, did not give up and go home. They continued to stand until they reached their goal so two hundred kids could go to college. We are so pleased to report that on May 16th, they reached their goal.

Mercury One always has and always will support events and organizations such as this. Servicemen and women, in our minds, are the true heroes of this country. Freedom truly isn’t free.
