HOW WE HELP

human trafficking & ABUSE

Mercury One is committed to bringing awareness, education, and help to victims of human trafficking.

According to a recent study published by the Department of Justice, roughly 750,000 American children are reported missing each year. Of that number, unofficial estimates show that 100,000+ are enslaved into the world of human trafficking, forced into prostitution and pornography.

These crimes are all too common and victims come from every segment of our society. Human traffickers often target children between the ages of 12-14 years old for the commercial sex trade. Many victims are runaway girls who were sexually abused as children.

In response, Mercury One partners with organizations to disrupt human trafficking markets right here in the United States and around the world. As a trusted partner, you can help these children who are being bought, sold and discarded by donating to Mercury One.

We are Currently Combatting Human Trafficking Around the Globe.

Mercury One is committed to combatting human trafficking wherever it occurs, including our local community. In partnership with Jaco Booyens Ministries (JBM), it is our goal to save children from human trafficking before they even need to be rescued. JBM is an anti-trafficking organization led by the Holy Spirit to redeem the lives of children, victims, survivors, and those creating demand for sexual exploitation. JBM does real-life rescues and provides training and research, rescue support, and legislative and policy action to end human trafficking once and for all.

HOW WE HELP

DOMESTIC ABUSE

Mercury One partners with Hope's Door to support victims of domestic abuse.

One of Mercury One’s pillars of service is to serve our community while encouraging others to do the same.

It is from this pillar that we forged a relationship with Hope’s Door New Beginning Center – a North Texas based organization supporting victims of domestic and sexual violence.

WHAT IS DOMESTIC ABUSE?

Domestic abuse is defined as any behavior that attempts to assert power and control over another person, specifically an intimate partner ... this can be physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, or financial.

National statistics show that a staggering 1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence at some point in their lives.

The abuse typically escalates over time and coincides with feelings of fear and shame on the part of the victim, making it difficult for the victim to come forward and seek help.
